Our Firm



King & Attridge was founded in 1991 by John A. King and Patrick James Attridge (1956-2017).  Our firm focuses on the representation of design professionals in arbitration and in litigation brought in the state and federal Courts of Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.  The firm has carried a Martindale-Hubbell AV Pre-eminent rating from its inception.

Our clients include architectural, engineering, survey and construction management firms. Our clients range in size from sole proprietorships to large international design firms as well as local chapters of professional associations and societies. We are also panel counsel or approved counsel for most of the A/E professional liability insurers, including CNA, AIG, Lexington, Beasley, Navigators, XL Catlin, Travelers, and Axis. 


       Practice Areas

           King & Attridge is a litigation-oriented law firm whose principal focus is on the                            architectural and engineering aspects of construction disputes. The firm also counsels

           design firms on risk mitigation, including the drafting and negotiation of contracts. In a

           related sphere. the firm represents a national underground utility locating contractor in            litigation and in regulatory/ legislative matters.
